Following a heated exchange, Kohli and Gambhir received 100% fines.

For a level 2 violation of the IPL Code of Conduct, Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir, who got into a violent argument following the play in Lucknow, have been penalised 100% of their match money.

Article 2.21, which forbids public indiscretions, unruly behaviour in public, and inappropriate statements that are detrimental to the interests of the game, was found to have been broken by both Kohli and Gambhir. Afghanistan bowler Naveen-ul-Haq was fined 50% of his match fee for a level 1 breach of the same Article.

During LSG’s batting innings, Kohli was rather animated on the pitch with his exuberant celebrations following dismissals. He even covered his mouth with a finger when Krunal Pandya was eliminated to calm the spectators at the Ekana Stadium. It’s probable that Gambhir’s similar actions at the Chinnaswamy Stadium after LSG’s one-run victory were the motivation behind this.

Naveen and Kohli were spotted having an unfriendly talk when the players shook hands following the game. After the former was dismissed, Naveen and Kohli got into a heated argument on the pitch. The RCB batter and Amit Mishra were also seen having an argument on the pitch.

The triumph was fantastic, and the fact that we had more support than the home audience is an awesome feeling, Kohli stated when speaking to the camera. It reveals just how many people support us and how much they like our team.

“We needed this win to help us out on the road. The primary factor making this victory so satisfying is the character we shown in defending that total. Everyone had faith in our ability to achieve, and we finally prevailed, which is amazing, he continued.

In the same video that the RCB published, Faf du Plessis said, “That’s the nicest version of Virat, isn’t it? He does a good job at that point. It’s great to be a part of it. I was in charge of keeping the peace on the pitch, and I believe we did a fantastic job at it.

“I guess after the last match here at the Chinnaswamy, where we lost on the very last ball, it always felt like we were desperate to get this one,” RCB director of cricket operations Mike Hesson continued. You may have sometimes witnessed a small amount of that boil over, I suppose.

There have been other disagreements between Kohli and Gambhir as well. The two got into a furious dispute in 2013, when Kohli was captain of RCB and Gambhir was captain of Kolkata Knight Riders.

LSG was bowled out for 108 in response to RCB’s 126/9 total in their home loss to them by 18 runs. Rahul, the captain, was the last to bat and only reached the middle in the penultimate over since he missed a significant amount of the game owing to a hip flexor injury. With both clubs winning five out of nine games played, RCB is in fifth place while LSG is in third on the points table.
