Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag thinks M.S. Dhoni’s bowlers are failing him time and time again and has advised them to “buck up” to prevent the possibility of their talismanic captain being “banned”.
In their IPL match on Monday against Royal Challengers Bangalore, CSK produced a commanding 226/6 total, but Dhoni struggled to defend it as his bowlers gave up six wides before winning by eight runs.
Sehwag posted on Cricbuzz, “Dhoni was not looking thrilled because he has previously mentioned that he wants the bowlers to minimise the quantity of no balls and wides.
It shouldn’t progress to the point when CSK must play without their captain and Dhoni is suspended.CSK bowled up to 11 extras overall against RCB.
Dhoni ordered the four-time IPL champions to limit extras or prepare to “play under a new captain” after they earlier allowed 18 runs in extras against Lucknow Super Giants.
“Dhoni has already urged us to limit wides and no-balls. Sehwag added that it was quite disheartening to bowl six wides.
Sehwag was furious with his spinner Maheesh Theekshana for bowling wide, but seamer Tushar Deshpande continued his bad IPL performance by giving up three wides.
